a little Blues Fusion for your late afternoon into evening

in the hills
the treetop man
watches the air
and he can see sun rays
like arrows he tells us
i can see them
like a child drew them

everyday...cloudy...chilly...
and then the sky opens up
dumps tons of water
the sky moves...and it's back to grey
like someone forgot it was spring

he takes a stick
and shows them...
just little lines
he sees the lines of motion
they run and he can see
they wave flap paddle their arms at him
and he sees...

and I squeeze another out...they send them to me, and I get to work...and it's just there...and that's about how it works....i never question where it came from...never much anyways...i'm just happy when it does.

what's it like they ask
like heat...when you see it
over the fire
over the hot pavement
and they understand.......

.....he tells them
i see your colors
you wear them like a suit
over top and inside and all around
i see it like a moodring
i see right through it

and it keeps going and going
ideas pour from some
i.v. drip
into my head
and my cells
are sucking at the
hole like a milkshake

he tells them their colors
and he must go
why they ask...frowning he shakes his head...
because I can also...hear your dead.
